Cameto has been selected by the energy company Iberdrola to supply the structure of one of its new photovoltaic projects in Spain. Specifically, the new plant will be built in an area between the Yecla and Jumilla municipalities and will have an installed power of around 50 MW.

The plant will extend over an area of 90 hectares and will be made up of around 147,000 solar modules with different configurations, depending on the characteristics and orography of the land.

The calculation and design of the structure have been carried out by Cameto after a thorough study of the characteristics, requirements and particularities of the project. The production and supply phase will begin immediately, according to the planning carried out by the company and aimed at completing and launching the plant within the established deadlines.

Although promoted by Ibedrola, the plant will be managed through the Renewable Energy company of the Region of Murcia and will be part of the projects that are planned to be carried out in the region.

Clean energy expectations

Iberdrola has an investment plan to expand its portfolio of renewable energy plants that will reach 3,000MW in 2022 and reach the notable figure of 10,000MW by 2030. All of this, in order to meet the ambitious green agenda that the company has and that goes in parallel with the expectations of the European Union to achieve the reduction of emissions by 2050 by 80% in relation to 1990. And where Spain, given its position, will play an important role in the time to enhance this type of energy. An example of this is that Iberdrola is currently processing two projects of this type in Castilla la Mancha, specifically, Puertollano II with a power of 100MW and Barcience with 50MW.

Cameto consolidates its renewable energy area

With this, Cameto continues to advance and add projects in the field of renewable energies, in this case, in the photovoltaic field, of which new projects are expected to be awarded shortly. Contributing decisively to sustainability in the generation of clean energy and reduction of polluting gas emissions. This task, which is part of its company philosophy, is a responsible commitment to the environment and society.”
