The engineering and boilermaking company Cameto is collaborating in the supply of equipment for the new Bahr Al Baqar wastewater treatment plant, near Port Said in Egypt.
Cameto has carried out the manufacturing of these large elements, with a height of 8.5 meters and a radius of 3 meters. The tanks have been built with the purpose of storing the sulfuric acid necessary to carry out part of the wastewater treatment and which is included in the integral water cycle. They have been built with specific materials and paint treatments intended to preserve their integrity and durability.
The Barh Al Baqar plant constitutes a mega project that will be carried out in several phases and for which the Egyptian construction companies Orascom and Arabs Contractors have been awarded.
This project was awarded for an amount of 739 million dollars and will benefit around 500,000 people and will contribute to solving the irrigation problems of the plantations east of the Suez Canal.
Therefore, it is a project that will help solve situations and prevent, for example, effluents from reaching Lake Manzala, which covers an area of 1,360km2.
Cameto contributes to this and continues to do so every day to improve the infrastructure for both wastewater purification and the conduction and pumping of drinking water for supplies.”
